I'm a Computing Science student at the University of Aberdeen (graduating 2028), looking for a software internship. I like building things end to end, from the database and API to the interface people actually use.
Habit Tracker: a React + TypeScript app that turns big goals into small daily, weekly, monthly and yearly habits, with streaks to keep you consistent. Live demo
Habit Tracker API: the FastAPI backend behind it, with JWT authentication, per-user data isolation and period-based streak logic, covered by automated tests and CI. Live docs
Habit Coach AI: an AI coach built into the Habit Tracker. A tool-calling Claude agent reads each user's habit data through the existing API, grounds its advice in habit-formation research using RAG with inline citations, and streams replies over SSE. Includes a hand-written rate limiter and LRU cache, a grounding evaluation, and 143 tests, shipped as a Docker image on Render.
ASUS Dashboard: an open-source Armoury Crate alternative for ASUS laptops on Linux. Controls power modes, GPU switching, refresh rate, keyboard RGB and battery charge limits, and shows live sensor readings. Released as v1.0.0 under the MIT licence.
File Organiser: a Python command-line tool that tidies cluttered folders like Downloads, sorting files by type and detecting duplicates via SHA-256 hashes, with dry-run and undo so nothing gets lost.
Farmily 2.0: building a farmer-focused app for real clients at the University of Aberdeen as part of a seven-person team, where I'm the client representative leading communication with the clients.
- Languages: Python, TypeScript, Java
- Backend and data: FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, JWT authentication, MySQL, SQLite
- AI: Anthropic API, tool calling, RAG (Chroma), SSE streaming
- Frontend: React, Vite, React Router
- Tooling: Git, GitHub Actions, pytest, unittest, Docker, Linux
- Security: cybersecurity fundamentals
IT and Cybersecurity Intern (Dec 2025 – Jan 2026)
- Developed an Active Directory security assessment questionnaire covering encryption standards, privileged access, defensive configuration and backup/recovery readiness.
- Researched Windows domain hardening: legacy protocol deprecation (NTLMv1, LM hashes, SMBv1), Kerberos encryption, SMB/LDAP signing and tiered administration.
- Shadowed sysadmin and helpdesk teams, gaining exposure to EDR tooling (CrowdStrike) and enterprise network operations.

Most of my free time goes to books and music. I also enjoy hardware, especially custom PC builds and custom keyboards.
