Deploy Federated GraphQL with Confidence, section "Advanced: Canary Deployments" > "Implementing with Argo Rollouts"
Problem
The example Rollout uses strategy.canary and publishes the schema from postPromotionAnalysis:
strategy:
canary:
steps:
- setWeight: 10
# ...
- setWeight: 100
postPromotionAnalysis:
templates:
- templateName: publish-subgraph-schema
Argo Rollouts only supports postPromotionAnalysis for the BlueGreen strategy (docs). The canary strategy has no such field. There is an open feature request for it in argoproj/argo-rollouts#1978. As a result the example can't be used as documented, and the "Automated Rollback" section that follows describes behaviour a canary Rollout won't have.
