Documents the new +rootAttributes setting requested in #3513, implemented by:

Those stack on a precedence fix for htmlAttributes/bodyAttributes (the app's values now win over values set by Vike extensions): vikejs/vike-react#228, vikejs/vike-vue#237, vikejs/vike-solid#249.

Changes

  • New page /rootAttributes, mirroring /bodyAttributes, with the accessibility use case from React: Allow attributes to be added to the root node聽#3513 (role="none") as the example.
  • Listed under Settings > HTML shell, in headings.ts, and in the vike-react / vike-vue / vike-solid pages; cross-linked from /htmlAttributes and /bodyAttributes; added to llms.txt.

Design

Standalone +rootAttributes (no consolidated htmlTagsAttributes setting), root element only, strict parity with htmlAttributes/bodyAttributes (server-only, global, cumulative, function form, useConfig()), no default role, and no validation of id.

Verified locally: the docs build (vike build) and tsc pass.

Documents the `+rootAttributes` setting implemented by vike-react, vike-vue, and vike-solid: adds attributes to the root element, e.g. `<div id="root" role="none">`.
