Add the R-universe version badge and development installation instructions using balancing's README style. Retain CRAN instructions and use pak for the GitHub source alternative.
Rendered README.Rmd successfully and checked the generated badge and installation section. Verified the package is listed in the r-causal R-universe source index; git diff --check passes. Unrelated example output and figures are unchanged.
