Could not init tesseract

Hi,

it seems with set to german it does not work for me. Error "Could not init tesseract"

At first the DL did not work, as I did not grant network permissions. After that it downloaded, at least as far as I can see, german and english. With english I can use the "test" function and it extracts some data from a bill. But with german it does not work at all
Furthermore it complains, that it's written for an older version of Android

Android: Graphene OS 14
OCR: From F-Droid (recent version)
Meine Ausgaben: From F-Droid (recent version with subscription)

When started first with Meine Ausgaben the scanning, it asked me either way to install OCR or another software (unfortunately I forgot what the other software was) But surely when using Meine Ausgaben I would love to scan bills to automatically enter the data to the application.

Any help would be appreciated.

@f45tb00t I am sorry for not reacting earlier. "Could not init tesseract" would most likely be caused by the training data file not having been downloaded correctly, and it might be worth a try to start again with granting Internet permission before launching the app.
There is a variant of this project based on Google's mlkit that is not available on F-Droid because mlkit is proprietary. It can be downloaded from the Releases page. I will publish new versions shortly that will no longer show the "old version" warning on F-Droid.

Hello,

I did not use the app at all to be honest. Because one of my main goals was to scan the bills. Also the reason why I got a subscription.

I tried it now again, the app has internet permissions.

There is another warning but I cannot read it as its to shortly shown. Then another one "Language is not configured or data has not been downloaded"

No idea what I could do here. Now I am also on Android 15.

Any help is still highly appreciated, as I definitely would like to use the app.
