Release torchvision 0.10.0 #345

Prepare for release:

Released 0.10.0 from e6ef7cd on release/0.10.0. The release was revalidated on 2026-10-13 from main at 0e9df65. Main now contains the release history through #420.

• git pull
• Check current CRAN check results
• Polish NEWS
• urlchecker::url_check() (rechecked 2026-10-13)
• devtools::check(remote = TRUE, manual = TRUE) (0.10.0, tests enabled; 0 errors, 0 warnings, 0 notes)
• devtools::check_win_devel() (final 0.10.0 report: 0 errors, 0 warnings, 0 notes)
• revdepcheck::cloud_check() (7 reverse dependencies of main at 0e9df65; 0 new problems, 0 failed checks)
• Update cran-comments.md
• git push (release/0.10.0; merged to main through Complete torchvision 0.10.0 release #420)
• Verify po/R-torchvision.pot with potools::po_extract() using the package's message wrappers, then potools::po_update() (no new messages)
• Collect updated French translations (#417, merged)
• Compile the translations with potools::po_compile() (rechecked 2026-10-13; compiled catalog matches)

Submit to CRAN:

• Set the release version to 0.10.0 in DESCRIPTION and NEWS.md
• devtools::submit_cran() (submitted 2026-10-13; confirmed and accepted)
• Approve the CRAN confirmation email to tomasz@posit.co

After CRAN acceptance:

• Accepted and published on CRAN as 0.10.0
• Publish the GitHub release, tagged at the CRAN submission commit e6ef7cd
• Resume development at 0.10.0.9000, add a development NEWS section, and push
• Merge the release branch through #420 with a regular merge commit, preserving the release commit in main's ancestry
• Deploy the release documentation from v0.10.0 (workflow #421, successful deployment); live homepage, changelog, and all three new articles verified as 0.10.0 on 2026-10-14. The development site remains at 0.10.0.9000.
