   I know this is a really late reply, but for anyone who is still getting the error:

   You can use TypeScript casts as a workaround for now:

   hash.hmac(hash.sha256 as any, key)

   or

   hash.hmac(hash.sha256 as unknown as BlockHash<any>, key)
