TypeError bundling v5.3.0

Description

When bundling v5.3.0 in vite our page fails to load with this error in the console:

Uncaught TypeError: X.seriesTypes.sma is undefined

Downgrade to v5.2.2 seems to resolve the problem.

Similar issue here.

On local dev (vite) it's working fine. But after "vite build", I'm getting a JS error:
ScatterSeries-B4GRcvDt.js:1 Uncaught (in promise) TypeError: Class extends value undefined is not a constructor or null
at ScatterSeries-B4GRcvDt.js:1:375

After initial investigation, we suspect this is related to module dependency resolution in Highcharts Core rather than the React integration itself.

As a temporary solution, try explicitly loading modules in dependency order before your chart initialization:

For example:

import Indicators from 'highcharts/modules/indicators';
import { HighchartsReact } from '@highcharts/react-official';

// Register modules first
Indicators(Highcharts);
// Then register any other indicators or modules you need

// Then initialize your chart

@magdalena-gut Seeing this too, with a slightly different angle that might be worth noting.

We maintain a private React component library, and our chart component sits behind the package's main entry. So after upgrading, every Vite app consuming our library hit this on page load in dev - including ones that never render a chart.

Versions:

• @highcharts/react 5.3.0
• highcharts 13.0.2
• vite 8.2.2 (8.3.0 in the consuming app)
• react 19.3.0
• node 24.19.0

The error:

TypeError: Class extends value undefined is not a constructor or null
  at highcharts/es-modules/Series/Scatter/ScatterSeries.js:27

Dev only for us - production builds are fine. We're working around it with optimizeDeps: { exclude: ['highcharts'] }, but since we ship a library rather than an app, we can't apply that on our consumers' behalf. Every team using us has to add it to their own Vite config.

Although it seems similar, it actually appears unrelated to the original thread. Moreover, it looks like the proper fix should be made in the Highcharts source code, not the Highcharts React integration.
