I am a PHP, Go and TypeScript developer based in Minneapolis.
I work across the entire stack, but I’m happiest in the backend. Moving data, pushing bytes around, making things fast.
I ❤️ tiny reusable parts with single responsibilities and no side effects. I keep code simple, clear, and easy for anyone to read.
I’ve spent fifteen years in EdTech keeping old systems running and new ones from catching fire. Before that I built industrial and B2B tools where things had to work because people depended on them.
I’ve been deepening work on MDDoc, my PHP API-documentation generator. I added support for documenting enums—including their cases, values, constants, and inherited interface or trait methods—so generated docs can keep pace with modern PHP code.
I’ve also been making MDDoc more practical in real projects: it can now find classes through Composer without loading them, wrap long signatures more readably, and handle conditionally declared functions. The goal is to make API documentation a useful, dependable part of day-to-day development rather than an afterthought.
I’ve been carrying those improvements back into the PHP libraries I maintain, using MDDoc to make their generated reference material easier to keep current and easier to navigate.
I’ve been thinking about how AI changes the experience of programming without removing the need for judgment, understanding, and responsibility for the code we choose to ship.
