Diagnosing a crashed or hung app

Every template installs a zero-dependency diagnostics bootstrap at startup (app_diagnostics.py for Python, diagnostics.ts for Node) that routes crashes, unhandled exceptions, worker-thread failures, and shutdown (SIGTERM) all-thread stack dumps to stderr — the app's log stream — so a failed deploy or runtime crash leaves a usable stack trace.

• Read the logs: on SSO workspaces the databricks apps logs CLI is blocked, so open the app's own viewer in the browser at https://<app-url>/logz. On non-SSO workspaces, databricks apps logs <app-name> --follow works.
• Hangs (Python): a hung app that the platform kills shows its stacks in the SIGTERM dump. To capture stacks before termination, set DATABRICKS_APP_DIAGNOSTICS_HANG_TIMEOUT (seconds) in app.yaml and redeploy.
• Toggles: DATABRICKS_APP_DIAGNOSTICS=0 disables it; DATABRICKS_APP_DIAGNOSTICS_LOG_LEVEL sets the level.
