I tried following the instructions provided by "🛠 Any changed dependencies have been added or removed correctly" but I got:

 WARN the lock file is up-to-date but uses an older format (v6), re-solving all environments using locked content to upgrade to v7
Error:   × failed to solve requirements of environment 'test-py312' for platform 'osx-arm64'
  ├─▶   × a coalesced request failed

  ╰─▶ other error

I can't reproduce it. Maybe try updating pixi with pixi self-update and rerunning?

Hi all — we’re getting ready for the next ESMValTool release, version 2.15, and are planning to freeze the code on 26 June 2026.

Could you please let us know whether you think you’ll be able to finalise the work in this PR by then? If not, no problem — it would just help us plan what can realistically make it into the release.

Hi @ehogan, thanks for this, not sure if it was ready for review but have added comment on showing the template in docs?

Do we need to uncomment the notes on using the template so it can be referred to in the docs? Or do we keep the template file but not include in the actual docs? Maybe we want to fill one out with content from one of the exisitng episodes in the tutorial as a starting point and go from there?
