You can also try and port Scratch Everywhere to Symbian. |

Be the change you want to see in the world |

#606 should help a bit if you don't want to preprocess textures, cuts texture and surface VRAM usage in half. Set this in your cli args in the main file when it's merged and see how it does: args.glTextureFormat = GL_TEXTURE_FORMAT_RGBA4
args.glSurfaceFormat = GL_SURFACE_FORMAT_RGBA4 |
he's only interested in porting butterscotch, he has no interest in porting scratch everywhere or any other projects also you kept posting on the scratch everywhere discord about adding unnecessary features or porting it to every platform even if it doesn't make any sense, you got banned there for a reason. source: i'm a scratch everywhere contributor and active member on the discord (not much recently though) |
from what i can see it's written in modern c++, i don't want to deal with that, sorry |
It's ok. |

Okok that was a misclick |

uses gles 2.0.
todo:
successfully runs undertale on e6 & e7 (vc3) with repacked textures to reduce atlases to 512x512, as well as 700/701 (vc4) but there are no touch controls yet, third party virtual keyboard app can be used.
on vc3 phones it works better with anna firmware, on belle fps may drop to 3 when vram is near to full, and there are random freezes.
also runs deltarune chapter 1 with a lot of stutters and low fps places on vc3, but overall playable. on vc4 it's much better.
probably runs more other games, but i didn't test too much.
moderngl backend is modified to unload textures that were not used last 1000 frames and when there is not enough vram to upload more.
audio is implemented by editing existing miniaudio implementation.
ci uses gcc 15.2.0 made by fedor4ever with symbian^3 sdk and slightly modified sbs 2.16.1.
loop.c currently has weird indentations to avoid merge conflicts.
how to build with original gcce:
use symbian^3 sdk with sbs taken from qt sdk 1.1.2 (otherwise it will force to c90 mode), compile with carbide.c++ or sbs cli.
how to build with rvct:
use cracked rvct 4.0 build 902, take symbiansr1 sdk, compile with carbide.c++ or sbs cli.
won't work with 2.2 as it doesn't support c99
