Fix mobile place jumps after keyboard viewport changes - #146
Use a shared place-card reveal helper for chat-result/deep-link arrivals: focus first, align the title to the top on mobile, and re-align after keyboard-driven viewport resizing settles.
Bound the resize correction and cancel it when the user interacts, so it cannot fight subsequent taps or typing. Preserve desktop scrolling and reduced-motion preferences.
Debugging and verification
A touch/mobile viewport regression models Android keyboard dismissal interrupting navigation. The prior behavior left the card title about 1,718px below the viewport; the fix lands at approximately 0px.
Browser regression also covers cards taller than the mobile viewport and keyboard-sized viewport changes.
bun run check and bun run build pass; the targeted mobile browser test passes.
Tested with mobile/touch Chromium emulation; a physical Android device was not available.
The public prototype currently links from home chat to guide pages. This fixes that arrival path without importing private site data or the private site's larger chat UI.
Note
Low Risk
Client-only scroll/focus UX on guide pages; no auth, data, or API changes.
Overview
Deep-linked guide arrivals (?place=) and similar highlight scrolls no longer use inline scrollIntoView/focus in guide-filters; they go through a new shared revealPlaceCard helper in place-navigation.js.
On mobile, the helper focuses the card first (to dismiss the keyboard), scrolls with block: start so the title sits at the top, and re-scrolls after viewport resize (debounced) to handle Android keyboard/visual-viewport settling. That correction is capped at ~1.2s and cancelled on tap or keydown so it does not fight later user input. Desktop keeps centered scrolling with prefers-reduced-motion behavior via existing scroll utilities.
A Playwright mobile e2e simulates keyboard-driven viewport shrink/restore and asserts the highlighted card stays near the top of the viewport and focused.

Bug Fixes
Improved how highlighted place cards are brought into view, keeping them focused and correctly positioned on mobile—even when the viewport changes size.
Reduced unexpected scrolling while users interact with a highlighted card, and respected reduced-motion preferences when navigating on wider screens.
The highlighted-place handler now uses revealPlaceCard to focus and scroll the target card. On mobile, the helper can re-align the card after viewport changes and cancels pending work after input, another reveal, or timeout.

revealPlaceCard focuses and scrolls the target, then conditionally re-aligns it after mobile viewport changes. The highlighted-place handler uses the helper. The mobile test checks focus and settled card position after viewport height changes.

page.setViewportSize() resizes the page, so this test can pass through the window.resize listener even if the visualViewport.resize listener stops working. The default Android keyboard behavior resizes only the visual viewport. Keep this layout-resize case, and add a separate case that resets the scroll position and dispatches resize on window.visualViewport without resizing the page. (playwright.dev)
