People have repeatedly complained about nested, seeing it as wrong behavior. That stemmed from a misunderstanding about what nested means.
As an alternative/better name no_multi was proposed.
To implement this, we should not just change the commands or add that possibility (it would remain unused), but rather add a deprecation note upon use.
