Running qspeak results in following error message:
Gdk-Message: 18:39:47.102: Error 71 (Protocol error) dispatching to Wayland display.

GDK_BACKEND=x11 qspeak doesn't crash, but results in a transparent, essentially invisible, window on my system.

WEBKIT_DISABLE_COMPOSITING_MODE=1 qspeak with or without the x11 backend works initially.

If I then click on "Get Started ->" it segfaults...

This is likely due to some system misconfiguration on my part or due to nvidia drivers acting up. Just wanted to document here.

Edit:
Oh, and the only other logs that I get are these:

(qspeak:95172): libayatana-appindicator-WARNING **: 18:53:04.531: libayatana-appindicator is deprecated. Please use libayatana-appindicator-glib in newly written code.
