Custom Functions in Context?

How can I initialize an expression with a custom function? I am interested in replacing the check I have created here with another method that will determine if a point is inside or outside a poorly formed mesh, and allow for full remeshing using Fidget's Manifold Dual Contouring. I don't intend to do this through Rhai, just directly in Rust, so no need to fuss with the Rhai engine bits.

Fidget doesn't yet support custom functions – threading a function + associated data through both the interpreter and JIT is a bunch of gnarly implementation details, and I haven't reached a point of needing them yet.

(libfive mostly got the Oracle API because someone paid for it 😄)

The easiest way to hack something would be declaring a new opcode and having it use a global static mutex to sneak data into the evaluator; proper plumbing would be a lot more work...

I’ll investigate what my options are then - I assume you mean that your suggestion is a Fidget side hack, and would require a fork? That function I wrote is not the most efficient representation of a mesh, but I was hoping to rely mostly on Fidget for this remeshing experiment…

Yeah, you would have to fork Fidget and use it as a git (or path) dependency.

Hm, remeshing like this might not work anyways, since the SDFs would have jump discontinuities where the original mesh is poorly defined.
