RGBPi-Extra installed in OS4 v27 (20240101) but it does not work.

I do not know if v27 is OS4 or OS4.5. According to RGB-Pi OS Menu Information it is only OS4. But after installation RGBPi-Extra does not execute.

OS4.5 is OS4 for Pi5 and is not connected to extra. Are you running this from SD card?

No, I am running it from usb1. I tried to install it online, and after the installation I cannot open the RGBPi-Extra UI; when I try to launch it I obtain a black screen whith an arrow at the upleft corner for less than 1 second, and after that the image goes back to the RGBPi menu.

Ok, at the end I got RGBPi-Extra to be installed and configured, but not without a lot of problems. Here you have a few tips I learned by the way:

• First tip: To install RGBPi-Extra, the Raspberry Pi must be connected to the internet, no matter what. When you run the RGBPi-Extra installer, the first thing it does is connect to the internet because it needs to download the latest updates, which are probably not in the offline folder you copied to your hard drive/pendrive. If the Raspberry Pi doesn't have an internet connection when you run the RGBPi-Extra installer, it displays a black screen and returns you to the Raspberry Pi menu.
• Second tip: RGBPi-Extra stores the update files it downloads from the internet in a folder inside the "Ports" folder. So, don't delete that folder after installation or replace it with the original one at any time, because it contains more and more updated files than the original.
• Third and most important tip: ALWAYS WHEN YOU RUN, ATTEMPT TO RUN, OR INSTALL RGBPi-Extra, the ROM hard drive/flash drive WILL BE CORRUPTED. So ALWAYS, after doing something like installing or running RGBPi-Extra, you must safely shut down the Raspberry Pi, remove the hard drive/flash drive, and plug it into a Windows PC. Doing so will immediately pop up a window saying that the storage device contains errors and that Windows will scan it to fix them. This will fix those errors. Then, plug the hard drive/flash drive back into the Raspberry Pi, turn it on, and you can proceed to the next step.
  I'll repeat this again: YOU MUST DO THIS WHEN YOU INSTALL OR RUN RGBPi-Extra.

By following these three recommendations you can achieve a successful installation of RGBPi-Extra the first time.

P.D. I'm adding a fourth trick, one I learned the hard way:

• Fourth trick: do the entire installation process using a USB flash drive to store the games YOU'RE NOT DEAR TO, because, due to the frequent errors accumulated during the installation and configuration process of RGBPi-Extra, the USB flash drive is SURELY going to be screwed. When you're done with the entire installation process, insert your final USB flash drive with the ROMs you're interested in into the Raspberry Pi, and that's it.

Offline install does not require Internet

Of course you shouldn't remove the Rgbpi extra folders in ports after installing

Update doesn't add more files, update removes Rgbpi extra, downloads the offline installer and automatically installs it.

Installing Rgbpi extra will not corrupt the drive at all so something else is going on with your setup.

I do not know where is this issue coming from, but this is a problem happening not only to me but to other friends. And this problem of corruption is happening again and again over a dozen of attempts for installing and configuring RGBPi-Extra. Until I understood the tips that shared here with you.
