U can also easily transfer the repo to him. So that he can merge his fork and the existing user base doesnt have to change their obtainium configs, fdroid downloads etc

Steps to Transfer Ownership

• Read the warning prompt carefully.
• Type the username or organization name of the new owner.

What Happens Next

• Acceptance Required: GitHub sends an email invitation to the new owner. The transfer remains pending until they accept it (the invite expires in 7 days).
• Redirects: GitHub automatically redirects web traffic, clone requests, and Git fetches from the old URL to the new URL.
• Local Repositories: While old remotes will automatically redirect, updating your local Git remote URL is best practice:
